Navigating with a distance from the coast – this territory requires a large ship-type of discussion or negotiation. This means that some boats have different limits than other boats. If you have a boat fully equipped with professional team, you can have up to 250 miles. If you ever stray outside the limits, accidents (loss of equipment, for example) will not be covered.

Inland Waterways and Coastal: This area extends up to five who are miles away from the coast. If ever you will go to an island 5 miles off the coast, you can still enjoy this area, provided they do not navigate away from 5 miles from the nearest land. Discuss this land navigation with your insurer so you can fully know the limits of this policy.
Puerto risk land As the name implies, you can choose to use this territory if the marine vessel is not in the water. If you decide to put your boat in the water, you should contact your insurance company or of another territorial coverage.
Puerto risk territorial board You can have this insurance if your boat is actually in the water and not going anywhere. Think of this as an area for navigation “parked” the boat. Any form of movement of the ship instantly nullify the claim that territory.

The average annual cost of Personal Watercraft coverage can cost anywhere from $150 to $500 per year for a typical personal watercraft insurance plan. The cost of personal watercraft insurance depends on a number of factors such as:
* Year, make and model of the personal watercraft
* Horsepower, engine type and maximum operating speed
* Value of your personal watercraft
* Any modifications made to the personal watercraft
* Boater safety courses you have taken
Additionally, your personal watercraft insurance rates will depend on the amount and type of coverage you choose. If you only want to cover your craft in the event it is damaged or you cause injury to another person, you can get a minimum amount of coverage. You will pay more for insurance if you also want full replacement cost coverage for your Jet Ski and increased liability limits.

Boat value is another factor. If the boat you choose has an extreme need to ensure that you then can have a high insurance quote. Personal Watercraft coverage can protect your Jet Ski, WaveRunner, Sea-Doo, Boat etc from damage such as collision, theft and fire. It may also protect you, the driver, if you are responsible for damages to property or bodily injury you cause to another person. Your Personal Watercraft coverage can also pay medical costs if you get injured while operating your Personal Watercraft.
If you are in an accident with your Personal Watercraft and you have appropriate coverage in place, you can contact your agent or insurance company and file a claim. For example, say you have a two-person Personal Watercraft, and both you and your passenger are injured in an accident caused by another Personal Watercraft driver. Your Personal Watercraft is damaged beyond repair. In this example, you can file a claim with your insurance company for your medical costs and the replacement of your Personal Watercraft, if you have that coverage in place. The amount you receive would be based on your medical costs and the amount of damage you are covered for, after you pay your deductible.
In another scenario, if you cause an accident or a severe injury, the other party can file a liability claim with your insurance company. Your Personal Watercraft insurance would pay that person’s bodily injury costs and/or property damage costs, and would potentially cover your legal expenses if you are taken to court. Again, the amount of coverage available for the claim will depend on the amount of coverage you purchase.

There are several ways to get a better rate on your boat insurance. Some of them are beyond our control, but others are a matter of personal choice. With a little patience and research can improve the rate at a good level and save a good amount of money in the long term.
Type of Boat: Just like how a sports car will normally have higher auto insurance rates, a sport boat is the most expensive to insure. For basic purposes have to do everything possible to choose a boat that is as safe as possible. This means that extreme power, giant engines, and lightweight design speed increase should be avoided.
A pleasure boat is going to make an insurance company far less nervous than the speed of a real devil to cut water and weak in the wake elderly. There are many beautiful boats on the market that have all the amenities and nominal speed capabilities that will not make your agent cringe.

Knowing what you are not covered for is just as important as knowing what you are. Therefor make sure to spend the time reading your PWC policy to get the facts on what is the excluded items.
Some of the typical examples of what is not covered are:
* Any craft that has been modified to enhance speed and performance
* Operation of a Personal Watercraft after dark—dusk to dawn
* Operating a Personal Watercraft when you do not have a valid driver’s license
Because insurance needs differ depending on the type of personal watercraft you own, read the details in your policy to see what is covered and what is specifically excluded.

Your boat may be the greatest enemy of the fuel inside it. There are a number of reports in the press about the negative effects of ethanol in fuel tanks for marine use – is a concern for boat owners.
The problem began when many areas began banning the use of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), replacing it with ethanol blends. This “new” fuel, called E-10 (10 percent ethanol, 90 percent unleaded gasoline), it was not designed with the fuel needs of marine engines in mind. Unlike fuel tanks in cars, boats, tanks are vented to the air. Ethanol attracts a significant portion of its weight in water – especially in hot, humid climates. When this happens, ethanol and water separately from the fuel and settle at the bottom of the tank. The result is goo in the fuel systems, clogged filters and the engine stalled. If it is not bad enough, ethanol has negative effects on fiberglass tanks.
What can be done to counteract the effects of ethanol? As a product MARINE Formula STA-BIL can protect the ship’s engines to maintain a good marine gasoline goes wrong, improved engine performance, the prevention of gum and varnish formation and counteract the effects of many ethanol.
Compared with the regular STA-BIL, MARINE Formula STA-BIL has double the corrosion inhibitors, preventing damage to the corrosion of fuel tanks, fuel lines, carburetors and injectors. It is also a complete fuel system cleaner, with five times the cleaning additive to help clean fuel tanks, carburetors, fuel injectors and intake valves.
MARINE Formula STA-BIL fuel stabilizer is an ideal choice for boaters and boat owners who store their equipment for the winter months. Recreational boating raises a number of issues for coastal resource managers and the public, including noise complaints, safety concerns and various environmental impacts. Although much information is available about these issues, relatively little is known about PWC-specific impacts or how they compare to those of more traditional vessels. This lack of information impairs the development of scientifically-sound resource policy and undermines the effectiveness of PWC management initiatives.
