For almost 45 years, Jack and Lelani Travers have operated Jack Travers’ Ski School, formerly International Tournament Skiing, in the Groveland, Florida, area. With more world champions and world-record holders under his tutelage than any other coach in the world, Jack has cemented his place in the annals of the sport as the most progressive, most consistently successful coach of our time. Jack and Lelani have grown their operation from a small trailer park and two natural lakes to a three-lake training facility, featuring three slalom courses, three jumps, on-site cabins and villas, in the most heralded tournament location in the sport. While countless champions have risen from Jack’s school, it is the emergence of a new coaching Travers that will ensure Jack’s legacy will continue to grow. Jack’s eldest son, Chris, who is 35, is quickly building his own list of successful clients and rising stars. A former Team USA Junior World coach, Chris has developed his own distinct style of coaching that does the Travers name proud. With Chris moving into the role of head instructor of the ski school, Jack, along with his other son, Jon, and Jon’s wife, Natallia Berdnikava, can focus on private client bookings. As always, Lelani takes care of literally everything else. With a family of coaches and athletes, the Travers’ dynasty is moving seamlessly into its next chapter.
